You don't have to fix everything, or even most things: you only need to fix what your heart tells you is a must. And as for people who might look at you funny and mutter that you're not from around here, either ignore them or turn their attitude back on them and ask "What's your excuse for not doing anything?" Cuz I assure you, the ones who'll give you the business are the ones who ain't doing squat to help. The rest of Us will welcome you like a brother.GCSchmidthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07735900094879466498noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11569206.post-90602881865065653282009-08-28T08:24:19.896-04:002009-08-28T08:24:19.896-04:00Gil you are a jenius!
I love your sense of humo...Gil you are a jenius!

I love your sense of humor even though it is backed by a real cynicism that would make coqui's quiet up! Hmmm, Ive been living in PR for only a few months and the government news is painful at best. I realize that PRicans being some of the nicest people I have ever met are also some of the most complacent people as well. The local people here are big complainers but there is no real backbone behind the roar. It kind of makes me feel like I need to be careful of what I say (unlike you), because it seems that peoples feelings get hurt really bad, and then there is no conflict resolution being taught here so people go from being really nice to murderers....Is that too harsh? Im sorry.

I still love it here. I have to figure out how my activist nature will fit in here. I dont want to come down from the states with an attitude of "I can save this place"....but I have thought about it. Fortunately, my lack of good conversational spanish keeps me quiet.....for now!Skainoreply@blogger.com
